Play Baccarat Online at 1998rich – Live Tables, RNG & the Widest Range of Variations in Malaysia

If there's one casino game that has truly captured the hearts of Asian players, it's Baccarat. Whether at the grand casinos of Macau or on online platforms like 1998rich – Baccarat tables are always among the busiest. There's something deeply appealing about its simplicity: you just pick Banker, Player, or Tie – and the outcome is decided in a matter of seconds.

Baccarat has a long and glamorous history. Said to have originated in Italy before gaining popularity in France and spreading across the world, Baccarat has long been associated with high-rollers and the exclusive atmosphere of premium casinos. But at 1998rich, we make sure the game is open to all Malaysian players – from newcomers trying it out with RM 5, to VIP players at tables with limits reaching tens of thousands of MYR.

The Baccarat collection at 1998rich covers a wide range of variations — from classic Baccarat and the faster-paced Speed Baccarat, to Super 6 Baccarat with exciting side bets, and Live Baccarat with real dealers streaming from a high-tech casino studio. Each version has its own distinct features that bring a different dimension of excitement.

Another reason Baccarat is so popular is that it carries one of the lowest house edges among casino games. The Banker bet has an RTP of around 98.9% – meaning for every RM 100 wagered, you can theoretically expect a return of approximately RM 98.90. This makes Baccarat an exceptionally smart choice mathematically compared to many other casino games available at 1998rich.

Many people shy away from Baccarat because it looks complicated — but it's actually one of the easiest casino games to pick up. There are no complex decisions like in Blackjack. All you need to do is choose one of three bets before the cards are dealt.

The aim of the game is to predict which hand — Banker or Player — will score closest to 9. Cards numbered 2–9 count at face value. 10s, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are worth zero. Aces are worth 1. If the total exceeds 9, only the last digit counts — so 7 + 6 = 13, which counts as 3.

Each hand starts with two cards. Under certain conditions, a third card may be dealt according to fixed, automatically applied rules — you don't need to make that decision yourself. The dealer handles everything in line with standard Baccarat rules.

A hand that draws 8 or 9 from the first two cards is known as a "Natural" and wins instantly with no additional cards drawn. It's the most thrilling outcome in Baccarat – when the dealer flips the cards and a Natural appears right away.

Betting Options

Baccarat is a game that relies entirely on chance – you cannot count cards or make strategic decisions to influence the outcome the way you can in Blackjack. That said, there are a few smart practices that can help you manage your bankroll more effectively and extend the enjoyment of your sessions at 1998rich.

The first thing to understand is that from a purely statistical standpoint, Banker is almost always the best bet. With a house edge of just 1.06% compared to 1.24% for Player, the difference may seem small – but it adds up significantly over time. Many experienced players at 1998rich stick exclusively to Banker bets for this very reason.

Second, avoid consistently betting on Tie. While the 8:1 payout looks attractive, the 14.4% house edge makes it a mathematically poor bet. You can place a Tie bet occasionally for fun, but never make it your core strategy.

Many Baccarat players also enjoy following "trends" or patterns from the road map — a record of previous results displayed at the table. At 1998rich, every Live Baccarat table shows a full road map. While each hand is mathematically independent, following the trend is part of Asian Baccarat culture and adds to the enjoyment of the game.

If you've ever visited a major casino in Macau or Singapore, you'd have noticed that Baccarat tables are almost always packed – far busier than Blackjack or Roulette. The extraordinary popularity of Baccarat among Asian players is no coincidence.

Much of Baccarat's appeal to Asian players lies in its reputation as a game of pure chance. Unlike Blackjack, which demands continuous strategic decisions, Baccarat requires just one decision per hand — choose Banker, Player, or Tie. This lets players focus entirely on the social experience and the thrill of the game, free from the pressure of making the right call.

Beyond that, following patterns and the concept of "luck" are deeply ingrained in the way Asian players approach the game. Road maps displaying previous results are a key element of Asian Baccarat — players analyse Banker and Player patterns to try to "read" the flow of play. At 1998rich, every Live Baccarat table displays a full road map including the Big Road, Big Eye Boy, Small Road, and Cockroach Road.

For Malaysian players in particular, playing Baccarat at 1998rich delivers an experience that closely mirrors a physical casino, but with unmatched convenience — play from home, on your smartphone, in MYR, with Bahasa Melayu support available whenever you need it.
