E-Sports Is No Longer Just a Hobby – It's a Billion-MYR Industry

If you've been following the gaming world over the past few years, you'll know that esports is no longer just kids playing on computers in their bedrooms. It has grown into a massive industry, with tournament prize pools reaching tens of millions of MYR, arenas packed with fans, and media coverage that rivals traditional sports.

Malaysia in particular is one of the most active countries in the Southeast Asian esports community. Players from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang have put Malaysia on the international stage – especially in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, where Malaysian teams consistently compete in the regional MPL (Mobile Legends Professional League).

With competitive odds and a fast in-play system, you can place bets while watching a live stream of your favourite match.

What sets 1998rich apart from other platforms is our focus on Malaysian users. Beyond Mobile Legends, the Malaysian Valorant community continues to grow, with several local players already making a name for themselves on the VCT Challenger circuit. 1998rich actively tracks these developments and adds markets for tournaments featuring Malaysian representatives whenever they are available.

Frequently Asked Questions About Esports Betting at 1998rich

Not sure how esports betting works? We answer the most common questions from Malaysian esports fans right here.

Yes, MPL Malaysia is one of the most comprehensively covered e-sports tournaments on 1998rich. We offer markets for every MPL MY match from the group stage right through to the grand final. Available markets include match winner, game handicap, total kills, first game winner, and outright tournament winner. Odds for matches involving popular Malaysian teams like Team SMG and Todak are always highly active.

The minimum bet for esports at 1998rich is RM 5 per selection. This makes it easy to try without taking on significant risk. For parlay bets, the minimum stake is RM 5 for the entire parlay ticket. Maximum bet limits vary by tournament and market – typically between RM 2,000 and RM 20,000 for major tournament matches.

For matches interrupted mid-game due to a technical disconnect, the tournament organiser's official rules apply.

Yes, 1998rich lets you place parlay bets combining multiple esports matches – even across different titles. For example, you can combine a Dota 2 match winner + a CS2 match winner + the first game winner in MLBB into a single parlay ticket. All selections must win for a full payout, but the multiplied odds make parlays very attractive for calculated risk-taking.

Yes, the 1998rich Welcome Bonus of up to RM 1,998 can be used for esports betting. The rollover requirement is 10x with a minimum odds of 1.50 per selection. This means your bonus credit can be applied directly to bets on Dota 2, Mobile Legends, CS2, or any other esports title available at 1998rich. You can watch the stream in a small window while viewing the odds and betting markets side by side on the same device. For matches without an in-platform stream, 1998rich provides live score monitoring and a live tracker with statistics updated every few seconds, so you always stay on top of the action.
